ED 101 Lagging and Drilling Tiebacks

Participants learn standard industry procedures for drilling H-beams. Course includes hands-on skills-based training in the drilling of H-beams, proper installation of lagging, tie-backs and properly testing ties. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 102 Drilled Shaft

Participants learn to perform caisson drilling procedures. Course includes hands-on skills-based training in the installation of mini-pile, micro-pile and helical anchors. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 103 Marine Construction

Participants learn principles of pile driver operation from watercraft. Course includes hands-on skills-based training on barge mooring, working from float stages, safe boating operations, welding, burning and drilling. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures. This class is held at the Dive School at 1500 Liberty Place, Sicklerville, NJ 08081.

ED 104 Bridge Abutment Project

Participants learn standard procedures for the execution of a bridge abutment project. Course includes hands-on skills-based training in the installation of sheet pile, and introduces basic concrete formwork. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 105 Heavy Highway Concrete

Participants will learn installation and removal of concrete forms typically used in Heavy and Highway construction. This course includes hands on skills-based training in the construction of EFCO plate girder system and various column forms. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 106 Cofferdam Construction

Participants learn to interpret site plans and perform project layout using Transit Level and basic math. Course includes hands-on skills-based training in the installation and removal of cofferdams and falsework. Introduces driving sheet pile to close a coffer dam. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 107 Advanced Pile Driving

Participants learn standard industry procedures for driving pile. Course includes hands-on skills-based training in the driving of H-beams, Wood, Pipe and Sheeting. Introduces splice preparation and setting. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 108 Vertical Concrete Construction

Participants will be introduced to the tools and materials used in wall form systems. This course will include hands on skills-based training in several types of wall and gang forms as well as transit level and an introduction to rigging. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.

ED 109 Elevated Concrete Decks

Participants will learn the installation and removal of formwork systems used in the construction of Elevated concrete decks. This course includes hands on, skills-based training in print reading, concrete forms as well as builders’ level and basic rigging. Emphasis is on safe work practices with attention to industry recognized best practices and efficient work procedures.
